Someone? Anyone?!

I've realized that in an earlier post I said that I have absolutely zero followers, but after checking my stats, I remembered that just because I have no followers on Blogger, it doesn't mean that I don't have any readers. I know that I have a viewer in Singapore and in Slovakia (unless those people just went on for a second, and don't read regularly) but I just want to let you guys know that I would love to know if anyone is reading my blog. I love blogging, and it would be great to know that I'm not blogging to myself! So if I do have a reader just email me at 0divinestyle0@gmail.com to let me know. You can say anything, whether it's just "Hello" or a "Hey your blog is really good" or even a "I read your blog and it sucks." Any type of feedback or notification would be awesome (just if you hate it, please tell me why so I can make it better and attract more people!). That's really all this post was about, because I've been getting pretty curious lately. If I don't get any emails, then it's OK, I'll keep blogging until something comes up. Till then, I'll be regularly checking my stats and my email to see if anything happens. I look forward to reading your emails, if they ever come!

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards

Before I start, I would like to note that I am blogging for the first time with my brand new HP laptop, and so far it's awesome! A good recommendation to those PC lovers out there.
Getting back to the Oscars, that was an awesome show Sunday night! All of the beautiful actresses were decked out in the most gorgeous gowns. Some of my favorites were Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, and Hailee Steinfeld. Before I start, I'd like to say that all of the red carpet dresses I have are from Style.com. Here are the red-carpet looks I loved:
Natalie Portman was one of the most stunning ladies out there tonight, and I'm not alone in this decision. She's wearing a Rodarte dress, Tiffany's jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes. Natalie's a pregnant girl, after all, and she chose the perfect dress to play down her big belly. I wouldn't have even known she was pregnant if I hadn't known better!
As Melissa Leo would say, her Marc Bauwer dress is so f**king awesome! The detailing is so amazing, I fell in love with it just because of that.
Penélope Cruz looked amazing in this Gucci dress. The details were bold and beautiful.
Hailee Steinfeld's Marchesa dress and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and clutch were jaw-dropping. Hailee certainly made an impression on her debut walk down the red-carpet.
Mila Kunis looked beautiful in her Elie Saab Couture dress in a modest shade of purple. The neckline and draping, however, were not so modest, giving the dress a perfect mix of sweet and sexy.
Halle Berry was wearing a Marchesa dress in a nude color which matched her complexion perfectly, and she felt comfortable in her own skin which gave the dress bonus points. I also loved the train.
Nicole Kidman was wearing Dior Haute Couture on this night, and she said that one of her favorite parts of the dress was the structure of it. That is definitely something we both agree on. All the details were in the perfect places, and the opening in the middle at the bottom gave the dress that extra "oomph".
Oh wow. I don't really think I should add this, but it's a funny story. If you're under the age of 10, stop reading!!
I didn't really know how to spell the word "oomph" because I've never really needed to write it before, so I decided to Google it. I originally thought it was spelled "umph" so that's what I Googled. Turns out, the word "umph" means when you're feeling horny and you really want to have sex, and when you're feeling sexually attracted to another person. I was about to describe a leg-showing dress that way. Awkward. Sorry Nicole!
Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier. I love the sparkles!
Am I the only one who will look at a person, and remember their face, and then take the time to re-wind three times just to see where I know them from? Even if I am, this just happened to me when I saw Hillary Swank, and every time I re-winded, I fell more in love with this Dior dress. Though a transition from a sparkling bodice to a feathery gown may be a bit tricky on some dresses, it wasn't for this one. The compact little clutch was the perfect accessory for this look.
And how could I forget Anne Hathaway? She changed her dress so many times, and she looked fabulous in each one. There's were just two that I didn't really like, so I won't put them up: the one that looked like a tux, when she was singing; and the shiny blue metallic off-the-shoulder one, she looked so tight and uncomfortable in it!
Anne's red carpet look, a vintage Valentino dress. She is posing with Valentino himself!
This is the dress shes started out with, and my favorite one. It just suited her so perfectly, I can't put it into words. In my opinion, she should have never changed out of it. This picture is from Sugar Slam.
I loved the color of this dress, because I don't think anyone else had worn it that night. It was young and fresh. And I didn't notice this before, but is James Franco texting or something? In the middle of hosting the Oscars? This picture is from Shopping Blog.
"There are two things that are great about hosting the Oscars. One, is being able to do this: *swishes dress around so the fringe will swing in the air*" - Anne Hathaway. I probably wouldn't have liked the dress as much if she hadn't done that. Anne can take anything and wear it well. Sorry the picture is so small, it's really bad quality otherwise. This picture was from Olsen Twins NEWS + Friends.
Did I get every one of Anne's outfits? I think I did. Then again, it's 10PM and I'm tired. I'll edit the post if I missed anything. For now, I hope you enjoyed the 83rd Annual Academy Awards as much as I did.

Fall 2011: Charlotte Ronson and Jill Stuart

Sorry! It's been over a week since posting something, and I'm getting very late with my reviews. On top of that, February break is over, and my school has started once again, making me very busy. Knowing that I have to blog about the Oscars, and that I have absolutely zero followers, I may not have enough time to do everything I want to do. There are just so many brands to cover and since this is my first time actually keeping track of all this, I have no idea when all the Fashion Weeks start and end. I know for sure that Milan Fashion Week just ended and Paris Fashion Week just began and after that LA Fashion Week will start, but other than that I am completely in the dark. Any help with this would be much appreciated, just email me at 0divinestyle0@gmail.com. But I promise that next time I will be a LOT more organized with this. Again, a million apologies on my part.

Charlotte Ronson
I'm pleased to say that Charlotte Ronson has found a happy balance between a sexy and tough but feminine look and a grunge look. She certainly stuck to her goal: "Feminine, but not too feminine."
Favorites:

This floral top with high leather boots is an example of the "Feminine but not too feminine" look. The floral pattern is a soft design which contrasts nicely with the tough leather boots.

This one is my favorite!!

Jill Stuart
I can honestly say that this collection was unlike anything I've ever seen before. Other collections have a certain style that it grasps: sexy, boho-chic, feminine, grunge. But Jill Stuart took one style to a new level: animals.
Ok, ok, so maybe I was a little over-dramatic. Her entire collection wasn't based on animals. But I didn't have least favorites, which was good.
Favorites:

I have just one problem with this collection. In order to capture the spirit of animals, Jill Stuart has used fur on her designs. The only question is, is the fur faux or not? If it is real fur, than I will go from loving this collection to hating it, being the animal lover that I am. It would also be pretty hypocritical to portray the animals so beautifully on one model and then have her next model walk out in the dead, slaughtered skins of these very beings.

Fall 2011: Z Spoke by Zac Posen and Alexander Wang

Z Spoke by Zac Posen
I wasn't completely crazy for the makeup in this line. It was too goth compared to the clothes. That negative comment aside, I'll get to all the awesome parts of this line.
Favorites:

I love the draping on this top. I have one just like it in lavender!
This is a dark, sexy color and the design is beautiful.
I love this bright color, but the model is covering the dress with her arm! The dress is slipping off, it doesn't even fit her properly….
I love the cardigan on this one. As for the pose, I can't say the same. *sigh*

Least Favorites:
This one is the only one I didn't like of the entire collection. It's just way too baggy, that's my only problem.

Alexander Wang
I loved the leather, tough-girl look Wang injected into this collection. He loves his hybrids, as in, he can take a parka and combine it with a sweater that flows down into a dress. In this collection he wanted to "poke fun at luxury" and take everything you think of when you think "outerwear" and combine it into one. He certainly did just that.
Favorites:
Don't you just love the color of those jeans? I only have boring blue jeans so any other colors tend to excite me…

The clothes in the top and bottom pictures are beautiful silk tendrils that flap around when the models walk.

A perfect example of a sweater/poncho/dress.
It's like the texture of a coat, on a shoe. These are a really interesting pair of shoes.
Alex Wang had a lot of these flaps on his shoes. I like to think of it as a little cape for the shoe! It's so cute. This exact shoe is also in red and silver. There are also other shoes with huge pom-poms on them and the same flap in red, black and silver as well. I'm not putting up pictures in fear of boring you with too many details, because I still have to do my least favorites! (don't worry it's only one this time.)
Least Favorite:
This reminds me of a little girl playing dress-up in her daddy's work clothes. It doesn't go with the theme of the collection and it doesn't achieve Alex's goal in it. It's also very unflattering. But the shoes are the black pom-pom ones I was talking about before. You can't see the flap from this angle.

53rd Annual Grammys

Wow! What a night! And although I am 3 days late in writing this, I still have a LOT to talk about.
One trend I noticed among those beautiful, talented ladies are that they were all rocking a sparkly look. Even the Muppets and long silver sparkling dresses when they were on stage with Cee-Lo. Speaking of, his entire performance Sunday night was.... very different (not in a bad way!), including his choice of attire.

This picture is from Access Hollywood . Cee-Lo took that stage confidently, even in this huge muscly-bird suit. He wore it well, normally someone would be so shy about wearing something so exotic, but not him. I love how he rocked this costume.
Unfortunately, I didn't love everyone's costumes at the Grammys. Although I'm a complete Parawhore, Hayley Williams' look made me cringe, to be perfectly honest.

This picture is from Google Images . Even though I love the color combo hot pink and black, The bright red hair and red lipstick did not tie in with this look at all. I admire Hayley's quirky and fun style, but the bright pink tutu was a little too 6-year-old for me. Also, the design of the top of the dress makes her look completely flat-chested, which just adds to the 6-year-old element of the whole thing. On the upside, the black leggings with the cross was a sexy touch, as were the black pumps.
The House That Built Me. An amazing song that goes perfectly with Miranda Lambert's amazing style.
Again, this picture is from Google Images. What can I say about this dress? I love everything about it! It suited her very well, and it was perfect for the song she was singing. I loved the shoes she was wearing this day too, but I couldn't find a picture that included them... Oh well. They were really pretty silver high heels.

After Christina Aguilera's now infamous mistake while singing "The Star Spangled Banner" at the Superbowl, she rocked the Grammys with the opening performance. Still going with the sparkly trend, she wore a beautiful black and silver dress. The picture is from Latina .

Rihanna looked amazing in this black floral dress fresh off the runway. It is from Christian Dior's Fall 2010 Couture collection. And of course, it perfectly matched the song she was performing: "Love The Way You Lie". The picture is from Fashion Is On .
And of course, as long as we're talking about fashion and celebrities, I would be just plain stupid if I left out Lady Gaga!

I got this picture from Google Images. First, Gaga pops out of a giant egg during her debut performance of her new single "Born This Way". She's wearing a very long skirt with a thigh-high slit, and she's showing a little mid-drift. All three of these elements are huge trends this season. Of course, Lady Gaga can't walk around with nothing on her head, so the yellow floppy hat completes the look. The super dark make-up balances out the very light clothes.

Expectedly, Gaga has a dress change when accepting her Grammy for the best pop vocal album, The Fame Monster. She has little horns in her forehead, (who knows how she made that happen!) and what else can I say? This look is truly something that only Lady Gaga can pull off. This picture is from The Hindu .

Fall 2011: Jason Wu

Jason Wu
I loved Jason's naturist spin on this collection. I loved the leaves on the dresses, it all looked so beautiful. Fishnets were a staple in all the outfits, which brought the whole collection together.
Favorites:

I love the structured skirts and the pattern on the top.
This red number is bold and stunning. The headpiece is amazing. I'm in love. ♥

Least Favorites:
As I said, I'm all for the nature spin on this, but these three pieces are going a bit too overboard with that.
In the pictures above and below, the models looked like giant walking fur-balls. Enough said.

I know those aren't actually caterpillars on her shirt, but they sure look like them! No one wants to wear something that looks covered in ugly, hairy caterpillars!
